Fortnite Guide Issue #3 - Beginners Guide to Fortnite Part 3
Welcome to part 3 of our beginners guide to Fortnite Battle Royale. As Fornite is probably one of the most played online games we thought we would put a little guide together for new cummers to Fortnite.
Today we will cover some more of the basics. The topics to day will be:
- Building
- Falling
- Crouching
- Trees
- Breaking stuff
- Harvesting
Building
Within Fortnite Battle Royale you can gather materials and build structures. These structures can give you the advantage in battle.
Building walls is a vital part of Fortnite. We would always suggest building walls around yourself when healing or drinking potions. Healing and drinking potions take many seconds and while this is happening you are unable to move. This makes you a sitting duck for other players. So always build walls around yourself before healing or drinking potions to keep yourself protected. Walls will also clip into cliffs and hills so there's no need to find open space.
When in battle you always want to try and get above your opponent, this will give you a tactical advantage. So buy building ramps you can gain that heigh advantage by building up to the sky.
By creating 4 walls and a ramp you can give yourself a sniping point advantage. You can take advantage of the height but also gives you space to retreat when reloading to take you out of the sight of other players.
Falling
There are a few things you need to know about the environment in Fortnite, the first of which is falling. Some other battle royale games allow you to fall from a height without any effect, this however isn’t true with Fortnite Battle Royale. If you fall from 3 stories up (3 standard walls high) you will lose a chuck of your health. So if you need to get down quick, don’t jump!
Crouching
Crouching will give you the advantage of sneaking up on your opponent. If you hear someone coming get yourself hidden and get crouching! Crouching will make less noise than running or walking and will give you the chance of maneuvering around your opponent unnoticed.
Trees
Trees! Yes glorious trees! You need to chop trees to gain materials! But don’t be tempted to chop down trees completely, instead chop trees to half health. If you chop trees down completely you'll be leaving a nice little trail for your opponents and we don’t want to do that.
Breaking stuff
If you think your stuck chances are you aren’t! Almost everything in Fortnite is breakable. So grab your pickaxe and start smashing your way out! Do be careful though, that red circle that appears is how much noise you're making breaking out and anyone nearby will be able to hear you. So take your time and get out quietly.
Harvesting
Harvesting is a key aspect to Fortnite. You need to harvest materials in order to build things. Most things in the Fortnite world are harvestable and you need to get into the habit of harvesting as you're running around the map. Being able to build will help to give you an advantage in battle and staying alive.
And that completes part 3 of our Fortnite Battle Royale beginners guide. Hopefully in conjunction with our previous parts to this guide, your Fortnite beginners knowledge is starting to grow and giving you more confidence on the battlefield.
